BIM Engineer

A BIM Engineer plans, creates and manages digital 3D models for improved collaboration and project efficiency for civil engineering and construction projects. They ensure accurate information exchange and coordination among stakeholders throughout the entire project lifecycle.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain detailed 3D models of infrastructure using BIM software
  • Collaborate with engineers, contractors, architects, and other stakeholders to ensure accurate information exchange
  • Have a strong network connection with clients and other stakeholders
  • Sustain and coordinate project deliveries tasks
  • Detect and resolve clashes or conflicts in design elements
  • Implement and maintain BIM standards, building codes, and protocols
  • Create construction drawings, schedules, and project documents using BIM models
  • Assist in estimating projects costs and quantities using BIM data
  • Conduct quality checks on BIM models and update the BIM database
  • Provide training and support to team members on BIM software and workflows throughout the project lifecycle

Solar Design Engineer

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Having good knowledge of solar/renewable energy.
  • Creating site layouts in AutoCAD for Utility and Commercial scale solar projects.
  • Creating sheets sets for electrical and structural disciplines under engineer supervision.
  • Ability to manage time efficiently across multiple projects.
  • Coordination with clients on their expectations.
  • Gaining deep knowledge of PV system components such as modules, racking, inverters and Balance of Systems (BOS).
  • Ability to work with and be supported by other engineers for guidance.
  • Ensure compliance with company, industry, trade, and jurisdictional safety standards, practices, codes.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned and/or directed.

Required Qualifications, Traits, and Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field.
  • Proficiency in design and drafting utilizing AutoCAD.
  • Knowledge of PV systems design is a plus.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Efficient time management – handle multiple projects simultaneously and with minimal supervision including prioritizing, organizing, and planning effectively to meet all deadlines.

Solar Designer

A typical Solar PV Designer's job will predominantly revolve around following three key responsibilities :

  1. Calculations & Design
  2. BOM Preparation
  3. Overseeing project execution

Depending on the specific position and role, your job will involve some or all of the following:

  1. Use custom software tools to design PV ground mounted and roof top systems
  2. Perform accurate system sizing calculations
  3. Create electrical single-line diagrams, panel schedules, or connection diagrams for solar electric systems, using computer-aided design (CAD)/ PVsyst software
  4. Run PVsyst reports for system production estimates
  5. Develop optimal designs with SLD, PML, conduit and wire scheduling, routing and equipment plans, and conceptual 3-D renderings
  6. Execute designs that adhere to grid compliance and permitting requirements
  7. Building detailed bills of materials based on system specifications
  8. Coordinates with management team to develop complete proposal packages
  9. Work across functionally with sales, project management and installation teams to ensure clients' needs and internal deadlines are met
  10. Troubleshoot design and construction issues in the field

Typical Qualifications Expected:

  1. Educational qualification and experience needed for the solar PV designer job depends on each company's requirements.
  2. Most companies prefer candidates with at least 1 year experience in doing dedicated engineering of Solar projects.
  3. An Electrical Engineering degree will be an added advantage.

Skills Expected:

  1. Ability to design PV systems at 11/22/33/66 kV power levels
  2. Has knowledge in PVSYST and AutoCAD
  3. Has knowledge in electrical design concepts

Other Requirements & Expectations:

  1. Should be ready for field visits
  2. Should be flexible to perform project management role if needed
  3. A quality mindset and attention to detail are some of the important qualities for this job

SOLAR STRUCTURAL DESIGN ENGINEER

  • In depth knowledge of various IRC Codes, RDSO and other codes as applicable.
  • Design major structures. (Bridges, Grade Separators, Interchange, Retaining wall, Steel structures, Foundations etc.)
  • Good knowledge of AUTOCAD, ETAP CIVIL, STAD PRO, REVIT etc or other computer aided design software.
  • Draw and draft the drawings and designs and give inputs for modifications.
  • Coordinate with the electrical design team, share structure details and information for smooth execution of the project.
  • Prepare proposals for the new projects, plan and design the best suitable structures for the project.
Maintain regular communication with the client to build confidence that the work is progressing in the right direction and to keep them satisfied .

Required Candidate profile

  • Preferably candidate should be MTech in Structural Engineering from premium institute
  • Experience in Connection design as per Indian/American codes
  • Performing steel & concrete structure design using Staad.Pro., Equipment Foundations, geotechnical investigation procedures, pile testing procedure for solar PV plants.
  • Capability/Knowhow of AutoCAD and StaadPro preferred.
  • Understanding of Indian standards (IS) codes. International Building Codes (IBC), American/Euro codes
  • Design of RCC & steel structures, fabrication for solar PV plants, Foundation details and designs, Geotechnical Engg, Hydrology etc
  • Understanding of Solar PV System from civil/structure perspective
  • Skills for Optimization and generating new ideas for civil/structure designs"
